FOR MARJET ZWAANS — RADIAL SCORE
2022 | If Forests Talk '22 - Online | Singapore Art Week | Curated by Kent ChanIn response to artist Marjet’s correspondence on lichen and mutualisms, Suhui created a radial score, drawing from theories like queer ecology and posthumanism. The score charted out the three sequential acts relating to expansion, fragmentation, and diaspora. These acts reference lichen’s multiple manners of sexual and non-sexual reproduction–and were designed to be performed by a citizen choir made up of chosen family within what’s left of primary forest in Singapore, the Central Catchment Area.
